Doesn't It Make Sense?

As you all know I am a military spouse.  I am a wife of a husband who is known to be predictable in my actions.  We get paid twice a month.  Those two days it is common for the 10 thousand members of the military of the base we live to do their groceries on these two days.  Not all 10 thousand members go to the same grocery store, so don't think that this is the reason for my rant!

There are two grocery stores in the neighboring town to us that is literally like 8km (approx 3 miles) from our home.  One I find is very much over priced and its usually an additional 100.00 more than going to the alternative store.  However I am tempted to go into the next major city which is like 30km (approx 12 miles) away.  Here are the examples as to why:

1.  What is advertised in the flyer that week, is usually not in stock, sold out, or they just didn't have that particular flavor.

2.  There are never enough staff members on the check outs on these two days a month.  The lines are usually 5 people long or more and the cashiers are as slow as molasses.

3.  They do not have a consistency of product.  One week ground beef is available the next its not.

4.  The store is borderline not clean.

5.  They don't carry a variety of product.  No name pickles vs. Valassic only.

Now I've mentioned to some followers in the past, that I don't mind grocery shopping.  Sadly its one of my only times of getting out of the house.  Its interaction outside the family walls.  But I get so frustrated for stores that are near a military base that do not "support our troops" to the best of their ability.
After all, if these men and women can fight for our freedoms then can't you supply the damned pickles they like?

*sigh*

Nice thing about Ft. Wayne. Lotsa shopping options. Even online if you feel like it (and I assume paying a lot more).

I really don't think that society's way of "supporting our troops" is providing the damned pickles they like at the grocery store. And if there are not enough cashiers working on these "two days a month" that "everyone" seems to go, why don't you try going on different days?

Hello Anonymous! What I meant if you had a brain in your head was why only carry a specific brand of pickles, why not two or three. I'm sure civilians (that's what we call folks that aren't military if you didn't know) would like variety too. The pickles were used as an example, there are plenty of other issues with this store.

However supporting the troops as a neighboring community of a military base is HUGE. Maybe not where you're from, but here it's important and if its staffing the grocery stores properly so be it.

What works for me and my family along with the thousands of other people who work here should be a priority. If they don't smarten up it would be their own fault for going out of business and not the fucking economy.

Besides, it doesn't matter when you go, there is always a fault with this particular store.

It's funny that you are talking to me as a civilian (that's what we call folks that aren't military if you didn't know). I am military. I've lived on several military bases over the years. And if you had half a brain you would know that I didn't think you were speaking specifically about pickles, but that I was quoting your example. Which was a poor example. How could you possibly group what works for your family with "the thousands of other people who work here?" Have you spoke to thousands of other people who work there? Is there some sort of survey I am missing out on when I move to each base that specifies each brand of pickles we all like at our local supermarket. (just an example)
But I imagine it must be very hard to please someone such as yourself whom is so specific, right down to the brand of pickle one would eat. I couldn't imagine pleasing every person let alone thousands whom all feel the same way. YIKES!

Hello Anonymous, we meet again. It's funny for someone who disagree's with my post, that you keep coming back for more. If you don't like my rant of the day you don't have to. This is my place and I'll bitch about what I want to. But I'm bored with this disagreement, so I'm moving on, g'night.

You also say in your home page that you are open for discussion and I quote YOU:

"I feel that this palace will be where everyone will be able to bitch freely. If you want to disagree with what I have to say, please feel free. If you want to remain anonymous while doing so, by all means. After all who am I to call on you for remaining anonymous while I am doing the exact same thing!"

No further comment needed.

Oh my dear anonymous friend. I don't mind bickering back and forth, but I find that you don't bring valid points that I feel like discussing. It's boring is all. I'm over my rant, feel free to rant away, I'm certainly not going to stop you.
